The FJORDS and temperate forests were PERFECT for the SCANDINAVIANS, bringing in a great NUMBER of  SETTLERS to the point that it looks like it's been inhabited for CENTURIES. It helps that settlers would often get lost when trying to reach the already settled FJORDS. to the point where they would give up and just settle in whatever FJORD they found THEMSELVES in.
